TAMUNING, Guam--(BUSINESS WIRE) - Jan. 16, 2011-- If you missed your favorite Entourage episode on HBO last week, don't worry. In fact, for the first time on Guam you will soon be able to watch the entire season on GTA TeleGuam's new subscription video on demand on GUdTV, short for Guam Digital Television.

Even better, there is no additional cost when you subscribe to that premium channel such as HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz and Encore.

"The launch of subscription video on demand (SVOD) is GUdTV's first venture into premium VOD offers and it is the first deployment of premium on demand television in Guam," said Andrew Gayle, executive vice president of product development and management for GTA TeleGuam.

"Just like video on demand, the new premium channel enhancement allows GUdTV customers to choose from hundreds of titles, series, or movies; start their selections at any time convenient to them, and; pause, rewind or fast forward with just a remote control and set-top box," Gayle said.

"The flexibility of 100 per cent digital television allows GTA TeleGuam to more quickly usher in innovative services like SVOD."

GTA TeleGuam officially launches its subscription video on demand on Jan. 18. GTA TeleGuam will continually add titles to its library as they become available.

To access the new SVOD, customers must first subscribe to that premium television package. Then, using their remote control, select main menu and SVOD on the main toolbar through their TV set-top box. Customers who already subscribe to a premium channel will automatically have access to that channel's SVOD programming.

Customers can also now enjoy unlimited SVOD programming packages from Disney Family Movies ($4.99 per month) and Saavn ($7.99 a month). Disney Family Movies showcases family-friendly programming pulled from Disney's vault of classic and contemporary films and animated shorts. Saavn features high quality Bollywood movies, TV shows, sports programming and live events from India.

GUdTV customers can subscribe to a SVOD package using their remote TV controller. Subscriptions can be renewed or cancelled at anytime but billing is on a monthly cycle.

"Through GUdTV, GTA TeleGuam wants to make Friday night movie night with the whole family even more fun with so many viewing options now available at your fingertip," Gayle said.

And for large crowds, the same program can also be seen on two different TV sets in the home.

GTA TeleGuam launched its digital television service in October 2008 as a competitive alternative to standard cable TV. Since then, more than 6,000 homes and businesses have switched to GUdTV because of its superior video quality and programming value.
